Nana Akufo Addo, Wins Presidency
Nana Akufo Addo of the New Patriotic Party has been projected, the winner of the 2016 presidential elections. President Mahama of the National Democratic Congress fought a good fight, but Ghanaian voters prefer Nana Akufo Addo. This is what democracy looks like, the right of the people to elect or choose their leader or leaders.
In upholding the will of the people, the electoral commission must come forward quickly to confirm what seems a sure victory for Nana Akufo Addo and the NPP. Any further delay in its official confirmation of the results creates unnecessary tension as well as raise suspicion that, something undemocratic is afoot.
It is also important that the electoral commission moves fast to declare the election to allow the winner, Nana Akufo Addo, to ready his team to take over on January 7th. 2017.
