The NPP Manifesto Provides Hope
The NPP’s Manifesto was worth the wait because it provided the needed dose of hope to calm the anxiety of a long wait. Unlike the NDC’s Manifesto which rehashed a laundry list of demonstrably failed promises, the NPP’s agenda for jobs Manifesto provides hope for a country in dire need of hope and change.
At heart, the Manifesto provides reasons not only for Ghana to feel confident about voting for Nana Addo and the NPP but also heralds the coming of a prosperous future for Ghana. There is every reason to embrace an agenda for jobs given the widespread economic pain of the past eight years.
The NPP Manifesto is a holistic policy document because it demonstrates how a Nana Addo led NPP government would salvage the broken President Mahama economy. A good manifesto derives its value from the content of its policy vision.
Certainly, a good manifesto is one that provides answers to the pressing socio-economic problems facing a nation. The NPP Manifesto does exactly that. The Manifesto puts forth comprehensive policies to increase employment. There is no question today that, unemployment in Ghana has reached a historic high under President Mahama.
About the cost of living, the turbocharged inflation and interest rates, and the snail-paced rate of national output, the NPP Manifesto offers a solution to make it better. In sum, the policies proposed in the agenda for jobs Manifesto are SMART–Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Timed.
Though a lot of damage has been done to the economy in the last eight years under President Mahama, the NPP’s agenda for jobs affords a basis to be hopeful, to look forward to the future with confidence. It reveals that Ghana’s best days lay ahead with Nana Addo and the NPP.
So, to all who have given up hope especially, the youth, the agenda for jobs offers the key to unlocking a better future for ourselves and posterity.
