What Elections 2016 Holds
The entire NDC presidential and parliamentary primary elections offer Ghanaians nothing more than—vote NDC in 2016 because you don’t have a choice. From the Deputy Communication Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who suggests the NPP is a befuddled political party to the Minister of Agriculture, Fifi Kwetey, who scoffs his Ketu South primary opponents saying they are not ready for parliament. Or from President Mahama, who derides parliament for its inability to hold the executive branch accountable to the Foreign Minister, Hannah Tetteh, who calls her opponent “political lightweight.”
In spite of what these political actors think, Ghanaians are waking up to the knowledge that, they deserve—a government that is better at doing than talking. Perhaps election 2016, will be the beginning of electoral renaissance in Ghana.
